Addresses - past or present?

If you have an address on a birth or marriage certificate, and want to know if the road or dwelling still exists, have a look at the Royal Mail website. You will need to register (why, I don't know!) but can then put in a road and town. If the address still exists it will give you a postcode. If there's no postcode, it's likely the address is no more...

Thanks very much for the information. (I think I've overloaded my poor computer with all of the great websites members recommend.) :^)
