I have been unable to obtain my great great grandfather James Blears birth certificate b. 1861. Weaste in Salford, father George Blears. How do I access 1861 census and what info do I need to find either of them? Please help as I am at my wits end with this. I have tried twice , unsuccessfully with certificates from GRO. Kind Regards Gail. |

Hi, If you look at www(.)lancslist(.)com (or it might be a co, uk one) there is a lady called lulu offering 1861 census lookups. Go to the forums page, scroll down to the 1861 lookups thread and she is on there. Liz Btw, if the GC member who offered to do a lookup for me for my Walmsleys in Oswaldtwistle sees this, I am so sorry I didn't get back to you but my email provider wiped out my entire inbox and I hadn't made a note of your name or email address, believing it to be safe in my inbox.
