At last I've made contact with a relative - our connection being our gg grandmother JANE DUCE -- but we're both stuck as the surname is quite common in CLEE ST MARGARET, SHROPS where her children were born(registration district Ludlow). It seems she was not married , the children were:- 1845 Samuel Duce, 1848 John Duce,1852 Sarah Duce, 1855 Elizabeth Duce, 1858 Thomas Duce. We have these details from the 1851 census: Edward Duce Head 48 A G Lab Jane Daughter 27 Edward Son 23 A G Lab Sam G.Son 6 John G.Son 3 Its listed as being either Clee Feld or Field. The copy is not a good one and this is the Hill Side in the parish of Clee St Margaret. Any help with 1861 would be great!! Thanks Chrissie |
