I am looking for a Thomas G Payne on the 1881 and can't find any trace of him. I have him in 1901 living in Hendon Valley Road,Sunderland with his wife Mary Ann (nee Craig) and their children. In 1891 he is living in Cannon Cockin Street, Sunderland - again with Mary, a couple of their children, her mother and his sister!! Before that he seems to have vanished. He was born in 1865 in Whitstable in Kent. His parents were Susannah and George Pain (George changed the spelling of 2 of his 4 childrens surname just to confuse everyone). So in 1881 he would have been 15/16. He had 2 sisters Ellen (Payne) and Sarah Ann (Pain) and a brother Stephen (Pain). Can anyone help me with this puzzle....Please Thanks Kay |

Hi Kay, Glad you have them at last but it just goes to show that LDS are just a guide and only as good as the transcribers because they put sarah under Fritton. Best wishes Gen |
