After looking for a few months,I have finally found my grans family. Her mum married after she was born, but nan was given her mums maiden name. After receiving some new informtion from Cumbria records office I have spent the last 3 hours and £15 on 1837online looking for children from the subsequent marriage.I found 3 children, then my dad remembered that one of his mums brothers had died when he was young,so i looked again and found a death of not one,but all 3 children!!No the wonder my nan didnt talk about her family much. She blamed herself for killing one of her brothers because she fed him a piece of rotten fish,Ill have to order their death certs to see if this is correct.I feel sad now but at least it is one line of searching I can close Anna |
