Hi

Neri is the right way it is spelt and spoke.Michele in Haslemere has just given you my grandfathers name and grea great grandfathers name it is also a biblical name to.

Could it be an abbeviation for the Welsh name Aneurin. My father had a friend called this and he was nicknamed Nie Linda P

Do you know I never thought of looking!!!!!!! I will have to check them up because the Shaws they were witnesses for moved there and they were from Worcester!! Thanks for jogging my mind!!! Jo

Hi Joanne There are 2 Neri Watts on the 1891 census- father and son Watts, Neri 49 Cradley, Worcestershire Head Thornaby with South Stockton Yorkshire Watts, Neri 14 Cradley, Worcestershire Son Thornaby with South Stockton Yorkshire

The marriage certificate I have is typed out, although it is from 1861, they must have transcribed it. It says Neri X Watts
