Ingrid. Weird that - I'm on aol and I seem to be able to send mail to ntl OK, but lots of ntl stuff is not getting through to aol!! Maggie

Just a thought, but perhaps you're having a problem receiving your emails right now? I'm on NTL and I'm not receiving any, (although I'm still able to send them,) and it's been like that for 3 days now, so perhaps you're experiencing the same? ~Ingrid.

Shan babes, you ask away!! from what i've read thru the boards you've helped people out loads and I'd be glad to be up there with the reputation for helping that you so obviously have!! Hi Shan, I've put on messages where it's taken sometimes nearly a week to get a reply. All I do is keep nudging it up when it gets to about page 3 or 4. Sometimes the people I want are only on the board at weekends ( because they have lives of their own and are not sad like me) so it can take some time, but I normally get a reply at some stage. I've also put messages on offering help, but with no takers. So it works both ways. It's just the luck of the draw on the day. Don't worry, someone will reply soon. Regards, Nancy.

Shan I have left messages where no one has answered, so I take that to mean no one around at the time to help. 1861 because they are on disc and not indexed, will take time to go through. Some are and they do indicate this in the message board. So don't think its just you, sometime I go down the list and find the ones with O and see if I can help. There may be an odd one but not that many as others would have if they could. Anyway everyone needs a holiday and some who do these lookups seem to be very busy. Just think how quick it is now, even 4 years ago it was a long wait till you could get to London or where ever the record office you want to check out was. So make a note and put in your waiting pile and try again in a month or two. I say make a note I have loads and forget half of them till I go back after a few months. Irene

Shan, Think you've hit the nail on the head!! School hols!! One of my regular correspondents is complaining he's not hearing so much from me - it's because of the school hols - have to go and do exciting things like watch Spiderman and Thunderbirds movies instead of spending time digging up dead rellies!! Hi Shan - I'm sure not! Maybe they just a bit hesistant now? I read your thread on Records board earlier, which is fair do's, and I agreed with many of your and others comments. But I have seen some quite heated exchanges on here recently, which as a newbie, I feel is a shame - after all this is supposed to be a fun hobby! I have been researching for just a few weeks now and I am bogged down with info - I'm sure people do not purposely give erroneous details, but this can get very confusing at the best of times! Or maybe they just on their holidays LOL......keep smiling :)

Hi Shan If you know the person who has the census you need why don't you ask on that thread,if they have one, or ask them direct? Also sometimes people don't see the boards every day. or may only look at their threads. Lynda

How could you get blacklisted? We wouldn't knwo how to? Perhaps the people who have the discs are busy or on their hols?only disc i have is 1851 wilts if that is any use to anyone? Kim

Shan don't think you've been blacklisted there just doesn't seem to be anyone on the records office board at mo with 1861 middx/london. I'd help if I could!

Feeling a bit on the low side, just wondered if i have been blacklisted, i know people have the record's that i am asking for and i get no replie's except for one person, Maybe because i have voiced my opinion's, i dont know but i have helped numerous people and still am.
