I've found a family on 1851. Has George (1 years old). Not sure if its the one I want. Parents Jane (seems right) and John (merchant seaman.). I'll have to go onto the records office and request an 1851 devon lookup.

True. Least I know shes called Treleaven. Seems obvious now. There is a guy I know, has all the BMD for Treleaven. Could give him another bell. He's the one that said he could only find one Elizabeth Jane Treleaven, but not in the year I wanted, something like 1854 or something like that.

Emma and Edward must've married between 1863 and 1865. I can't find them 1866 onwards. FreeBMD doesn't have good transcriptions for 1863-1865

Sorry about that Tracy. I was being stupid.... its 1846/46 area. Least I have a rough idea now. My relative Henry married Elizabeth in 1879 in Kensington. George Frederick Treleaven married Mary Elizabeth Smith in 1875 in Plymouth. I'm glad we've worked this out. All I need to do now is buy the marriage certificate for George and for Elizabeth. That should prove or disprove a few things. Thanks for all your help

I think you are probably right Steve. Looks like Elizabeth, Emma and this George were probably siblings. George and his wife were living in the same house as the Adams. Kath. x

I've found a birth.... Emma Jane Treleaven. Elizabeth was called Elizabeth Jane too I believe. The birth is in 1845 (similar to census)

Henry and Elizabeth were born in Plymouth. Henry in 1860, and elizabeth roughly in 1858.

I think I've found something! In the 1881 census, living in the same property next to Emma and Edward are another couple.... called Treleaven.... possibly a brother, and he is born in Plymouth too. I think we've found a possiblity. Elizabeth, Emma and this other guy.

Thanks Tracy, I do think it is a relative of Elizabeth. But I hardly know anything about Elizabeth and her other family.

You have a few options. Either Emma is the sister of either Henry or Elizabeth, or Edward is the brother of Elizabeth (unlikely). I'll have a look see if I can find anything.

Thanks Kathleen for the reply. In answer to your question Emma couldn't possibly be a sibling of Henry, I know every brother/sister//in law to him. So it seems like if i find the marriage entry it should say something. And my guess is its Elizabeths side of the family's relatives. It may just be that they're not related to him whatsoever as sometimes relations on census don't work out like you think

Yeah, I've found them in 1871 and 1881 censuses, Edward was born in Marwood area in Devon in 1836 and Emma in 1836 in Plymouth. I'm trying to work out who Frederick is related to. Frederick's parents were called Henry Edwin Palmer and Elizabeth Treleaven. I think Emma is related to Elizabeth, Henry seems unlikely. They were living in Fowey, Cornwall in 1871. Plymouth in 1881 and 1891. Edwards profession is tailor (or tailor related). I did find a rough marriage of a Edward Adams and a emma, also a Jane Emma (in 1871 she is listed as Emma Jane). There are technically 2 entries on that marriage index.

Could Emma Adams have been nee Palmer, i.e. Henry Edwin's sister? Kath. x

Do you have Elizabeth's maiden name? Could she have been an Adams?

Frederick was born in 1879/80, in Paddington, London. His parents Henry Edwin Palmer and Elizabeth married in Kensington, London. I found Frederick on the 1881 census with his parents and grandparents. In 1891 I found his parents but no Frederick. In 1901 I found him with my Great Grandfather (Also called Frederick Palmer). His occupation from 1901 was a Tailor's Cutter, and the head of the household Edward Adams was a tailor in his occupation in 1891, where Frederick was staying.... all interesting, just can't gather whos brother or sister it is....

I've found him on the 1891 census with what is described as his aunt and uncle.... I can really understand who the others are and how they fit into my tree, his aunt and uncle are called Edward and Emma Adams, I am not aware of that surname in my family.... can anyone help
