This may sound like a real dumb question but is there anywhere I can search Irish births on line? |

Hi, Afraid you are out of luck, finding relatives of Irish birth can be a long difficult road!!! I at least you know the County they came from, thats a good start (I do not know my gt grandfathers County only that he was born in Ireland!! hopeless search at present!!) Your next best bet, would be to put requests on the Irish boards. There are quite a number of these on site, and you might strike lucky. Why not start with (remove brackets) www(.)britishislesgenweb(.)org/cgi-bin/data/ireland-cgi?form=0 Also try using Google, put in query for Irish message boards & see what comes up Good luck |

There is an Irish Certificate exchange site online - somewhere. I'd give you the link but I've changed internet provider and lost my favourites. UKBDM covers Northern Ireland. |

Michaela Tracing Murphy, Kelly or any of the 'O' names is near impossible. Even if you get the County they were from if you do not know what's known as the Townland you will find there are FAR TOO MANY with the name for each year to go through. You can never know which one is which, there are literally hundreds with those common names and the indexes are far too big an area to know who is who. sorry, but it's almost impossible unless down the generations people were told exactly where the family originated from Pat x |
