does anyone know how I can order a birth certicate if i can't find the birth of someone? my dads aunt was obviously brought and left behind by aliens as she doesn't appear on any census, nowhere in ancestry, nowhere on the local bmd nor anywhere else on this planet. However, i do have her death certificate lol. Your probably sick of seeing this womans name by now, but just in case anyone asks, her name is Sarah, Lillian noble b 1885 birkenhead, cheshire. Maria

Maria, Perhaps she wasn't really an aunt. Crista

Joy Report 16 Dec 2004 22:25

Was she definitely born in Birkenhead? And could her second name be different? Just in case - on free BMD there is a Births Jun 1885 ------------------------- Noble Sarah Ellen Haslingden 8e 88 The district Haslingden is in the county of Lancashire. Joy

Joy you have a point there, I have a family of 5 children, first child born Birmingham next two were born in Derby and the last two born in West Bromwich. All of the children were brought up in West Bromwich and I bet would have said that's where they were from. I was lucky as I got the info from the census. Maria you don't happen to know anything that the GRO can use as check points? Pat x

Ria Report 16 Dec 2004 22:49

The details I have of her are sarah lillian noble b 13 dec 1885 birkenhead d 29.8.73 wallasey, cheshire. her brother in law registered her death, i have the copy of death registered entry. from the others in the family, her fahter john henry, mother elizabeth, the next born after lillian would be elizabeth b eccles 1888, hannah 1889, john henry jr b1894, william earnest b1896, margaret b 1898 and thomas b1901. She worked for buchanans flour mills. Ive seen the entires you have found and they don't seem right. I am really begining to wonder if she was actually john and elizabeth's daughter. they got married in 1884 so she would have been born 15 months afterwards. mother born in salford, father born in wellington , shropshire, daughter elizabeth born in eccles, the rest born in seacombe, cheshire. arhhhhhhhhhhhh lolol it's drivng me nuts.

have you tried Noble spelt Nobell? Kim

Crista

Crista Report 16 Dec 2004 22:58

Maria, I have found the same family in 1901 but the father is listed as John Henry as you said. Could be an error. John and Tom might sound the same. Crista

I wonder if the enumerator messed up and Elizabeth, the daughter, is actually Sarah. Crista

Ria

Ria Report 16 Dec 2004 23:10

I think there may have been a mix up too. I suppose the only thing i can do is write to the pro. i even have the home she lived in before she died so i have loads of info on her. I have no family that will know now either so fingers crossed for the pro. :( Thanks for all your help guys :)

Wow Crista I think your right! :):):):) so.... with the 8d and other number, if I give those details to the pro, would that enable them to find her birth and send me a birth certificate?

Crista

Crista Report 16 Dec 2004 23:22

Maria, That's enough to order the cert. You can do it online. I think Elizabeth in 1901 is Sarah but the enumerator messed up with the name and the age. In the cases where the family could write, he is transcribing the handwriting from the household returns. Plenty of room for error. Have you found a birth for this Elizabeth? Crista

Ria

Ria Report 16 Dec 2004 23:28

No I haven't found the Elizabeth, and actually my dad drew a family tree years ago, it didn't include an Elizabeth so I think your probably right, which site is it from, is it the free bmd? can't thank you enough, iv'e been trying to find her for weeks. I was begining to think there may have been a hushed family scandal lol.
