I have a little brain teaser that I would appreciate any thought on!! Her goes;- My Great granny, Ann Paginton was baptised on 7/7/1839 in Brinkworth, Wilts, the daughter of Thomas & Mary. Thomas & Mary also had a daughter called Elizabeth, born 1821. The only thing I can find that looks possible is this, on the 1851 census for Brinkworth, Wilts. Matthews, Frederick,21 Elizabeth, 30 ANN,11 Jane, 7 Abraham, 4 Paginton, Mary, mother in law, widow, 59 So, Elizabeth Matthews did marry a Frederick Matthews in 1849. Was Ann Elizabeths daughter? or was she (and Mary, her mum??) just staying with Elizabeth. And, the only entry on 1837 that I can find is;- sep 1839, Paginton, female Do you think it's worth sending for that cert? (it's the right district) Any ideas, Paula |
