Just a chance, but you could have a look at this site, the "Welcome Walls" at the Maritime Museum in Fremantle (Perth's port). This lists lots of immigrant families who arrived at the port. Info is "as supplied" by descendants, so can't vouch for it's accuracy in all cases!! Quite interesting nevertheless: http://welcomewalls.museum.wa.gov.au/search.asp

Also happy to do lookups on the local Online MetropolitanCemeteries and have access to an online Marriages in WA database that goes up to about 1920, I think, though not complete

Hi Claire, If you become a member of Perth DPS (Dead Persons Society), you will find lots of really helpful people with many local resources who may be able to assist you in your search. I tried to post their edress, but was defeated by GR. you can find them as a mailing list at Rootsweb

That's right Kylie... I requested a Digital Copy be put on the site. It took a few weeks, but the information I got was over 30 pages for my GrUncles Service Records. Also the name of his wife and the names of his 4 children and the address of where they lived at the time, my Gr Uncles was Killed in Action at Gallipoli in 1915. A wealth of information!! ...Babz :o)

Didn't anybody see my message? :( The web address I gave above will give you relevant series numbers etc according to what time period you are interested in, which is at least a start. If you email the National Archives people, I'm sure they will help you - although it does take time. There is also a "Record Search" on the National Archives site -you can search your relatives names on there and hopefully find them. If they are on there, you can request that the files be digitally transcribed and after a few weeks, view them on your computer. I'm referring to the National Archives of Australia of course!! Claire, my great uncle married 3 times and had 9 children. i have a picture of him in his Australian army uniform with one of his wives, named Alice, the 4 kids names too. Iv'e found his army record but thats it. Don't even know if 1 of his marriages was before he emigrated. ho hum lol. Maria :)

Maria, I've got a feeling that i'm not going to get anywere with this one, but it's worth a try. My G Uncle was killed in the 2nd W War and left behind a widow and son who, i'm told, moved over to Perth sometime after the war. The big problems are that i have no idea what his widow's name was, when his son was born or when they actually moved! fun eh!?!?!?! Claire

Hi Claire, I'm looking for relatives in perth too and am finding it very differcult to find info. Any passenger lists i've found have all been for the 1800's, my uncle went over there in 1923. best of luck, maria

This is an area of interest for me too. I found information on the National Archives website. It was a bit tricky, so here's the web address: http:/www.naa.gov.au/publications/fact_sheets/fs56.html This will bring up passenger records held in Perth.
