Lemon, forward to spoof at paypal (hope you can work that out!) they are usually quite quick coming back to tell you whether its real or not. DO NOT click on any links. Lisa

Everyone has answered you query, so I won't bore you. Also as a safeguard I have only one credit card that I use on the net and keep a watchful eye on all transactions on it. I use another credit card for all other transactions.

I had a similar thing a while back 2 minutes after I had ordered some certs. from GRO It sais it was from PayPal and said my account had been compromised and I wouldn't be able to use it again until I confirmed my details. I asked for advice on here. A few people said don't do anything and see if the certs. arrive. They did. I sent the email to Paypal and had since had a few more but I just send them on. Linda

By the sounds of it the Cheats 4 bit is a rouse for you to follow the link to try and find out what you are purchasing, you end up putting in your password to gain access to your account and then they have that recorded and can use it to access your real account. This is called Phishing. it is usually a good idea to change all your passwords at least once a month. Dont use anything that can be easily guessed at for you personally eg DOB of kids spouse etc. Use numbers letters and capitals.

I use PayPal all the time and the rule is PayPal will only send you an email for reciept of payments out of your account and when you withdraw funds from your paypal account. They wiil always start their email with Dear (Your name), whereas spoof paypal emails start Dear Customer, PayPal User etc. Pay Pal will never ask you for any personal info or passwords. If you have a Paypal account and need to use it never follow a link, always type the address in the address bar (its easy to remember). if you ever get emails that are supposedly from paypal but think they are fake forward it to them at spoof'at'paypal(.)com (remove brackets)

I think once you reply to any of the scams they know your email address is active if you just delete it or forward it they would not know. I always block the sender. just go into message at top of screen and click on bloke. If you click on properties it will also show you full email address and you can see from that if it is an offical site. So many scams about . Paypal do send you a confirmation email if you use them to purchase certificates but they do not ask for a reply or request any information. Good Luck Irene

NEVER EVER OPEN ANY E-MAIL UNLESS YOU KNOW WHO IT IS FROM. I get loads every week allegedly from banks and companies, often with titles like 'Re: your account' or 'Your order is accepted' etc. I just delete them all. I know who I've ordered from on the web. I also know my bank/credit card company/savings bank etc only contact me by letter. nell

Be very careful because a lot of these from Pay Pal and EBay are scams. I would forward them to the official paypal website and see what they say. DO NOT USE THE LINK ON THE EMAIL
