Hi Angela, Thank you so much for searching for my grandfather Walter Turner. What a great pity there were so many of 'em! Does this list only require the serviceman's place of birth, or can it be narrowed down to where he resided during WW1? I shall check out the website as it's not one I have come across. Very many thanks for all your time and trouble. Kind regards, Chris

If the offer isn't closed would you please try looking for George Ernest Snell, Born in 1880 ish in either Stow in Lindsay or possibly Laughterton/Kettlethorpe area of Lincolnshire and I think he was in the 9th Lancers. His preferred name was Ernest but think he would be under his legal name. I believe he was butler/batman to an officer in the 1st WW Veronica in Canada

Would you mind looking up my grandfather? He was called Hubert Roy Nichols and was born in Ryde on the Isle of Wight on 8 July 1912. He was already in the Army when the Second World War broke, and I believe he was in the Cavalry. I don't know the regiment, but he was posted to North Africa and we've photos of him in Baghdad during the war, as he was in the Eighth Army. He was a Captain and if you can find any information, I'd be most grateful. If there is anything else you need to know that I haven't put here, please let me know. Many thanks. Ellie

Hi Angela thanks for your kind offer. I've been trying to get somewhere with this one for a while, so don't know if you might have more luck! My Grandad was JOHN CHARLES SOMERVILLE. He was born in the STRAND area, LONDON, Mar q. 1898. He worked as a clerk in the RFC during WW1. Was in France for some of the time. Think that although in RFC he might have been seconded there from another corps. but know that he definitely had RFC medals. Thanks alot A :)
