Joan, I was just wondering the same. Do you have the actual birth certificate Trudy? Ms Bryce may have been married before, etc, etc. Are you sure that the father of Albert E is the William that you already have? Rachel

What is the christian name of Miss Bryce ?

Joan

Joan Report 21 Sep 2005 16:50

Trudi, I am a little confused. I have looked on the 1901 census and found the family, I think we are talking about and the age for William is 5 months ! But the transcription says b 1896. The image says clearly 5months. So at the beginning of the war he would have been only 14. Let's look at this again, Joan

Thanks Joan, yes I do have that ref.

Joan

Joan Report 21 Sep 2005 16:43

Ok, I won't go there but do you have the ref for his mum and dad ? William Suddick and Ann Elizabeth Ridley Sept 1894 Sunderland 10a 718, Best wishes Joan

Trudy From Robert's finds - Suddick births with Bryce as mothers maiden name. Why not try for marriages just before the 1st of these (Q4 1913). They may have started very young! Rachel

Trudy Report 21 Sep 2005 16:34

Thanks all - Joan he would only have been 16 in 1912 so it's probably bit early.

Joan

Joan Report 21 Sep 2005 16:33

Shall I go for 1912, Joan

Think you're all right, don't worry, will just have to do a bit more digging first - anything earlier would put him marrying out of his pram!!!!!!!! Trudy

Hi Trudi, I looked at 1915-18 on the Bryce angle. None found. Would go along with Rachel on this one, Joan

Trudy Report 21 Sep 2005 16:30

I hope not!!!! He comes from Sunderland, and all his family etc. were born there and are there on the 1901 - although he would have been 18 at the start of the war so I suppose it might just be possible he met her somewhere else. Oh bother, thanks to everyone for trying anyway!!!!! Trudy

Trudy Hopefully I won't confuse matters but are you sure they married in England. Scotland isn't far from there! Plus its not long after the war. They may have met elsewhere. Rachel

Rachel Report 21 Sep 2005 16:20

Trudy I had a look but I can't see it, my credits are gone now too! I checked backwards from Dec 1918 to Jun 1914. Maybe its just my eyes and someone else will find them. There were a few William Suddicks but none marrying a Bryce. Rachel

Can anyone do me a favour? I would be more than happy to do some Ancestry look-ups if someone could do me a lookup on 1837. . I have run out of 1837 credits and am about to go on holiday so don’t want to purchase any more at present. I am looking for a marriage ref for SUDDICK (believe William) and BRYCE, more than likely Sunderland or County Durham (mothers maiden name shown as Bryce on ref for birth of son - Albert E - in 1921). The other info I have is sketchy at present, Albert E Suddick was born March qtr 1921, I believe he had an older brother George but not sure how much older. I have searched 1921 back to 1919 without success, could someone have a look for a couple of years before that for me. As above I would be more than happy to reciprocate if I can help. Regards

Trudy
