Hi Lesley Not sure if I'm going to be much help, however.... I have found a Stephen Stanley on the 1901 census as follows: Stephen Stanley b. 1875 Rochester (Head) Rose Stanley b. 1877 Gravesend (Wife) Stephen Stanley b. 1897 Rochester (Son) George Stanley b. 1900 Rochester (Son) The only Stanley I can find born in 1897 is Charles Stephen Stanley, registered in Faversham (Dec 1897, District Faversham). Unfortunately of course this is nowhere near Gravesend or Rochester. I'm not sure if this is the right area though - does the family from the census tie in with anything you already have? Karen

Hi Karen, Just wondered if you could locate any information about a Mary Ann Rolfe (she married Thomas Ryman) and was born around 1812. Im very intrigued to find out whether she had a son called Caleb Ryman, born 1850 (there is one born 1865 but that is another branch of my tree!) I have looked myself but drawn a blank so a fresh pair of eyes would be a great help. I do know he ended up in America or Canada by 1901. many thanks Corrina

Hi Laura, Have done some research on your Sinfields, last time I saw her on a census as a Sinfield is in 1891. Unfortunately, the only way you will know if she married and was widowed, would be by sending off for Elizabeth's marriage certificate, which would state whether she was a widow or not. If you want to send off for the certificate, the information is: December 1900, Edmondton, Vol. 3a, Page 828. Other than that, you could send off for the birth certificates of the stepchildren, to find out who the parents are... Sorry I can't be of more help, Karen

Hi Corrina I've been looking and racking my brains - I can only find reference to the Caleb Ryman you have already born in 1865. I found Mary Ann Ryman as a widow on the 1871 and 1881 but unfortunately no sign of a son, only daughters. Sorry I can't help further with this one - good luck Karen

Dear Karen, All you lovely people offering look ups, could you look for ANTHONY LAWSON, in the 1871 Census. The information I have from the 1881 Census is as follows: 1881 Census 5107/13/20 Acomb NBL Anthony Lawson Hd M 38 Labourer Mav...tal SCT Jane Lawson Wi M 32 Hexham NBL John Lawson So U 18 Labourer Kimber SCT George Lawson So 2 Acomb NBL Looking at the age of his son John I think Jane must be his second wife so I don't know if he will be England in 1871 but here's hoping. The place of birth for Anthony is from the IGI site Derek

Hi June Have had a look at your Maguires, based on Margaret being born in Liverpool in 1859 (found her on the 1881 census with Laurence). The closest I got was a Margaret Maguire born in 1861, as follows: 1871 Census - 28 Snowdon Street, Liverpool Thomas Maguire b. 1821 (50) Ireland, Head, Labourer at Docks Catherine Maguire, b. 1831 (40) Ireland, wife James Maguire, b. 1851 (20) Bury Lancashire, Labourer at Docks Nicholas Maguire, b. 1853 (18) Yorkshire Margaret Maguire, b. 1861 (11) Liverpool, Scholar Catherine Maguire, b. 1864 (7) Liverpool, Scholar Nothing closer than that I'm afraid. If you want me to send you a copy of the census page, please let me know. Best wishes, Karen
