Alyson. Report 27 Oct 2005 21:02

Hello. I am having some trouble trying to find my G G Grandfather. His name is William Martin. According to 1901 census he was born c1858 in Abingdon Berkshire. Then according to 1891 census he was born c1859 Surrey. How far is Berkshire from Surrey ? His marriage cert in 1884 states his father as Henry (deceased quarryman). In both 1891 and 1901 censuses William is married to Annie and living in Wales. I cannot find him in any other census. I have trawled 1851, 1861, 1871 and 1881 trying to match William with a father Henry who was a quarryman but with no luck. I just do not know where to go from here. Any help or advice would be most appreciated as i do not want to give up yet. Thankyou. Alyson
