An Olde Crone | Report | 20 Dec 2005 22:14 |
Well, I am slightly calmer today - have written AND posted some cards. Have had text message from daur saying she doesnt give a stuff if I can't get a C--tree, all that matters is chocolate and cheese. So I can settle down to receiving my guests in some style. As Jess and Merry are camping out in a graveyard, that gave me the idea for a C- type game in my local graveyard, called 'Dead or no Dead'. 21 graves, all numbered (by me and my magic marker pen), you lot all blindfold, have to find and open a grave, guess who's in it and give their family history. First prize is a week's sick-note from you to your nearest and dearest, which should get you out of the NY celebrations too, if necessary, and with a bit of luck all the t*r*e* will be gone when you get back. Do be careful on that Ferry, the rest of you, and don't be beguiled by the cheap brandy OR the sandwiches. Olde Crone |

Funny idea of a game, Crone. ? So, we pull our hats down over our eyes, advance to the graveyard wearing tinsel G-string and procede to open graves....? Maybe isn't such a bad idea after all, I am sure the cornwall constabulary are very hospitable..... |

Merry, a pin would be an excellent idea were it not for the fact that I am terrified of anything going off BANG. Can't sit comfortably in a room full of balloons. Never joined in the 'sit on the balloon' games as a child. Never let my children have balloons. Can only cope with balloon powered box if said balloons are on the end of very, very long strings. I wonder how long it will take me to knaw through the strings with my teeth? Or does anyone have a spare double set of knashers that I could borrow? That might solve the problem. By the way, are you and Jess still anywhere near Banbury 'cos I haven't had a proper Banbury cake in ages - could you bring some along to the party with you. Also, since you are in that neck of the woods, some proper lardy cake would go down a treat as well. And perhaps you could stop off at a small village just outside Oxford and leave a c-mas wreath on my parents' grave, also my grandparents', also my great grandparents' ........... Am I asking too much here? Right, here we are, Gloucester........ No sign of rellies undies shop at 56 Barton Street.......never mind. I have put up the tent and the huskies and their snow machine are getting ready to have a sleep outside. Bobbin and his sheepskin blanket and comfy doggie bed are in one part of the tent. This is your wing Jess and I'm over there.....Hope you like your green and orange striped sleeping bag, Jess?? Would you like a glass of wine or a G & T or a whisky before you turn in?? I'm having some Advocat that the huskies left in their bowl........ (A TIP: ADVOCAT POURED NEAT OVER MINCE PIES IS DELICIOUS -MUCH BETTER THAN CUSTARD OR CREAM!!) Merry |

Its a tastefull sleeping bag Merry very tasteful! Can we just clear up one sight faux paux here, Bobbin~ yes Bob or Bobster for short, confusing though it is , is a.... , well, was a .... Okay she so is an 'It' dog now... no, it doesn't mean the Huskies can.... but what SHE wasn't ever, no not ever , was she a HE. If she was a he (althought she is an it now) is far too pretty to have ever been a boy. and yes,she is quite comfortable in the bottom of the sleeping bag thank you. have you ever tried sharing a sleeping bag? yes /no? ever tried sharing one with a springer spaniel? yes /no it morphs into a wriggly bag, and not a lot of sleeping gets done! |

LOL She wouldn't be coming to the party if she was a boy! Was my typo :O(( Sorry Bobbin. Tell Bobbin she has her OWN doggie bed, sheepskin blanket and treats, so she doesn't need to sleep with you.......do you want/need another scotch? Merry |

Yes please just a small one as you are not offering to boil up cocoa in the billy can. Give it an hour or two and you might be begging for her to snuggle down with you. She might wiggle, but she keeps you warm! By the way, there is thread on gen board with 17,000 replies, anything they can do we can do better! new thread after 400 odd, that is chicken feed , what you playing at? delete the other one(hard enough to keep up with this one!!) |

Tina....Worry not... I have a suggestion that may solve the problem of your landing. Take some of your Tena Ladies and fold them into three making a thick wad ...do this twice. Stick a pad to each side of a hair band making sure the pads fit over your ears. Follow Merry's suggestion of pin (not the one holding your tinsel G string together) and when the balloons go POP not BANG then you should not hear a thing. With a lot of luck you should float gently down onto the poop deck. I shall await you there. Woe....are you all prepared? I am a little worried as I have not heard from you. PS.. Suggest that we take some bright pink Marigolds (the sort my hubby wears when washing up) (NOT).. We may need these in view of the 'Dig up A Rellie' game that Olde Crone has invented! So looking forward to our meeting. Beryl x |

Brilliant idea, Beryl, I am working on the ear protectors as we speak. Maybe I could spray them with glitter to make them a bit more festive. Now, where can I find a pin that is not already in use......... Re the marigolds, personally I object most strongly to this game. I don't think it is fair - the result has been fixed. We all know who the winner is going to be. It will be Jess, because she has Bobbin to do her digging for her. Tina |

Wakey, wakey Jess and Bobbin.........I seem to have overslept....... Porridge is cooking..........it is weevil-free and you can have honey and/or hot milk on it....... We need to be warm for the M5 (it's OK, we won't be travelling at 70mph as skis, huskies and anything painted gold can only travel on the hard shoulder, I understand)........Also I have to watch out for the Bristol turn-off, as I am putting these flowers (oops, stalks) on my grandparents grave at Horfield......haven't been to see them before. I have to pour a bit of our scotch on granddad, as I understand he was VERY partial to it, but will ensure he doesn't get it all.........) Now, does Bobbin like porridge? Merry |
