PM received from Joan Hi Florence Marguerite Elsmore Goad was born on 5.3.1908. her mother was Margaret helen Goad formerly Elsmore, hence the Elsmore in Florence's name and the father was Curzon Goad an accountant. Florence married on 18.4.1929 and shows her father as Curzon Goad accontant and it doesn't say deceased. The addreess at birth was 16 Campbell street Paddington.

Closest name I could find was a Curtis Edwin Goad b. 1895 in Chelsea - that would make him a 13 year old father tho!

That Herbert Henry Afford who is on the 1897 marriage ref is on the 1901 census with his wife Margaret H Afford. His occupation says ''Formerly Accountant'' which seems a bit of a coincidence! It also says ''Feeble minded'' for him in the disability column, but I wonder if that should be for his sister (Olive), who is listed between him and his wife. Goads in Paddington in 1891, but I can only look at index, One of them is a Margaret. There is also Col Goad - presumably the father, of Anna with an Indian connection? This sounds the sort of family Curzon would have - perhaps he was abroad in 1901? Jay
