Second entry from Family Rellies: 1919 Q2 Fellows, Ernest. Mother's name Rowbotham, Ecclesall B District 9c 519 Merry

Merry Report 15 Feb 2006 23:06

Doing a search on FR for Q3 1911-1920 for Fellows with Rowbotham, reveals two births. One is your 1914 one, the other should be a sibling and prob the only sibling born after 1911Q3. There's no point in using FR for other siblings as they will be on FreeBMD and can't be picked out without the mums name to help you................... Will look to see who that one sibling is.......(aft 1911) Merry

Hi I think it cost 2 units to see the search results - which gives year and quarter - and another unit to see the image cheers

☼ Orangeblossom ☼ - Tracy Report 15 Feb 2006 22:52

You can't see the year unless you view the index, which costs the units. The Vol and Page no are shown on the index, so it doesn't work out cheaper (unless of course you trawl Ancestry)

Another question - apologies if it's daft, had a ;long day shopping with kids - Wouldn't it work out cheaper and save on units to get the actual vol and page number from family relatives and then view it on Ancestry? Entered just the surname and the area and it brought up 3 pages, grandfather born 21st March 1914 in Sheffield William Fellows, was trying to find his siblings born after 1901 and knew mothers maiden name was Rowbotham. Might have found one brother - Ernest born it says 1989, but he wasn;t on the 1901 census with the family, so thats thrown me a bit

You need the viewer to see the images... https://www.familyrelatives.org/treequest/jsp/customer/pre_lizardtech_djvu.htm When was your grandad born?

Jessie aka Maddies mate

Jessie aka Maddies mate Report 15 Feb 2006 22:42

Nope not loaded that! No luck finding them with out the maiden name as that is all I have to go on and the area where they were born My grandad isn't showing and I have his original cert showing where and the date but he isn't on there!!

Margaret Report 15 Feb 2006 22:39

Mothers maiden name isnt on the indexes before the 3rd qtr of 1911. If it isnt on the indexes it cant be shown on the site. Margaret

Been shopping with my two today - 2 pair of trainers, an x box game and a flimsy t-shirt for a 14 year old girl is dearer than my hobby Joanne

Merry Report 15 Feb 2006 22:22

I think the minimum number of units can be retained for 90 days (check that!!) So if you can make them last that long and only use them when it will save time, it's really cheap! Took my kids to the cinema yesterday and was horrified at the cost!! This hobby is MUCH less expensive than I thought!! Merry

You buy units - £6 for 60 units.

Jessie aka Maddies mate

Jessie aka Maddies mate Report 15 Feb 2006 22:20

Thanks Is it a quarterly payment like ancestry or a case of buying units the same as 1837?

☼ Orangeblossom ☼ - Tracy

☼ Orangeblossom ☼ - Tracy Report 15 Feb 2006 22:16

It is worth it for 1866-1920 as it is fully(ish) transcribed, otherwise you're better off with Ancestry.

Already a member of Ancestry but can't find the info that I need going backwards and forwards especially looking for children born after 1901 and have no set dates to go on. How much help would family relatives be - or would it be the same as trawling through BMD on ancestry Joanne
