I am stumped dunno where else to look lol

any ideas on where else to look i have a robert akenhead born 1830 in carlton in durham i have him on 1851 census living in a house where he is a lodger ive looked at rest of census and there is no sign of him ive think ive found his death as 1888 in hartlepool i dunno where else to look

If you are certain the death you found in 1888 is him, then he must be on the other censuses, but just mistranscribed. nell

thanks for ur replys 1851 census thats the one i found and his marriage in 1869 i found but he seems to have disappeared on the rest of the census but i have found 2 of robert dieing in 1888 and 1929 but i am thinking its 1888 is the one that he died

ive found out he married 1869 to ELLEN ROBINSON and ive looked at all census no luck he seems to have disappeared of the face of the earth lol

Perhaps he emigrated. Try looking on online passenger lists and US census returns.

Ancestry has US census returns and I think some passenger lists. Try googling for other US passenger list sites, also for Canadian & Australian emigration records. Good Luck!

Not sure he would have emigrated seen as you seem to think he was Born / married and dies in Harlepool .........but you never know ! what about the chap I found in 1861 ? do you think he's a possible ?

Just a thought but some of my Durham shipyard workers went over the border to scotland ship yards, have you tried their censuses?
