You're welcome, it isn't obvious where to look on Ancestry for the various things, I don't mind helping out at all. If you have problems with the others I'll gladly have a look, off out at the mo though Good luck Sam

Same again with Stasha Name: Stasha Mary Allen Death Year: [1990] Age: 69 Birth Date: 1 Jul 1921 Death Registration Month/Year: Oct 1990 Registration District: Plymouth Inferred County: Devon Inferred Country: England Birth... Sept quarter 1921 STASHA M GALE Mother's maiden name: WALSH District: Tavistock Vol: 5b Pg: 587 That's at least 2 that were born after 1920 Age at death for George is 47yrs in 1960, that makes him born in 1913 June quarter 1913 GEORGE GALE Mother's maiden name: WALSH District: TAVISTOCK Vol: 5b Pg: 606 These are all turning up quite easily, I'll let you look for the rest. The ones that died after 1984 will give you a DOB with the death reg on Ancestry. Then go to the Homepage scroll down to ''MORE COLLECTIONS'' Then click on ''England & Wales, BMD Index (Beta)''

Enoch was easy, his death reg gives you his date of birth. Name: Enoch Frederick Gale Death Year: [1989] Age: 65 Birth Date: 13 Nov 1923 Death Registration Month/Year: Jan 1989 Registration District: St Germans Inferred County: Cornwall Inferred Country: England No idea why you couldn't find him, I'm not convinced you're looking at the correct part of Ancestry. Have you been checking actual images? Dec quarter 1923 ENOCH F GALE mother's maiden name: WALSH Tavistock Vol: 5b Pg: 491

Hi Helen Thanks....at the time of these births many people used Tavistock, Devon for registering b,d or ms. Nowadays its usually St Germans/Saltash because its nearer to the parish of Calstock & they do an outreach here once every 2 weeks! If they die in hosp it would be Plymouth, Devon although I have looked both in Cornwall & Devon!!

Clare, the beta index link is down past the search box on ancestry.

Clare

Clare Report 1 Apr 2006 15:14

They were all born in Harrowbarrow, Calstock or Gunnislake in Calstock Parish Cornwall. I'm looking for births, deaths 7 marriages as I have no info on any of them other than the 1 death I've found and a death cert we had at home Unfortunatly there is 8 of them but if I could find one I'm hoping to apply to local reg office for all of the births!

Are you looking for their births or their deaths?

Heather

Heather Report 1 Apr 2006 15:04

Where were they born?

Clare

Clare Report 1 Apr 2006 15:00

I really don't think so esp with names such as Enoch & Statsha!!

Rachel

Rachel Report 1 Apr 2006 15:00

It depends what part of ancestry your looking at! They should be on the beta program but it may be mistranscribed!! If your doing a individual name search as you would for a census then your not likely to find them because it is not complete and it is only a copy of FreeBMD's records but they are a bit behind www.FreeBMD.org.uk has almost compeated transcribing up to 1910 so you could look on their or www.familyrelatives.org has fully transcribed 1866 to 1920 but it is a pay to veiw site.

Heather

Heather Report 1 Apr 2006 14:59

Could the spelling be slightly different? I thought that spellings would be fixed by 1900 but some of mine varied. Heather

Clare Report 1 Apr 2006 14:57

Heather

Heather Report 1 Apr 2006 14:55
