Hi Heather Yes, the 'Who do you think you are' deluxe edition is still on Amazon, costing £24.95, but it is the 2005 version. Thanks to everyone who has responded to my original query. With so many packages to choose from I really am spoilt for choice!

Sorry, it was the de luxe edition Who do you think you are. Is it not on there anymore? Have a look at the my-history website - it has a chart comparing them.

Having been doing my Family History for nine months now I’ve proved to myself that it’s not just a passing fad! I think the Family Tree Maker 2006 Beginners Pack 1 is the one for me! Having made that decision I’m eager to get going , although I confess to being a bit apprehensive because my knowledge of computer packages in general is not very good and I can be rather dense sometimes! Thank Goodness for friends who can help you out! Regards Lyndsey

I had the starter edition of Family Tree Maker to begin with, I upgraded to the standard version online and it was really simple, they just sent me a code to type in which unlocked the additional features. Sam x

Thanks Ron Funnily enough, my friend (who is more pc literate than me & is going to be helping me!) & I were looking at Family Tree Maker on the Internet last night & remarking how good it looked. The fact that it is so widely used is a strong reccommendation. However , being more forward thinking than me, she did suggest I find out how easy it is to upgrade from the Beginners Pack 1. Do you have to buy the next level package or is there something you can just 'add on'? Cheers Lyndsey
