Hi Jess They are on the 1891 census as Matthew Metcalf living in Edmondsly Durham b. 1870 Gateshead , and Sarah J. Metcalfe born 1873 Oakenshaw Durham. Spelt differently as they are at two different addresses. I am desperate to find out the names of their children if any. Thankyou Louise

Glitter Baby Thats exactly what I think. I have been researching this person for about twenty years and am still no closer to finding him, he was believed to have gone to America, maybe, but he is not on any US census or emigration lists. He was in england in 1902 at his brothers wedding, had a son in 1910 ( who got killed in an accident in 1926) and died here in 1935. Maybe I will never know. Thanks though for looking for me. Louise

Glitter baby I assumed she had died , as Matthew and son were living as boarders, and I have not found a death for her yet. But you never know.

Chris I wonder why I am not surprised! It would be wonderful though to find a Fishwick as a Metcalfe.......Is that actually a real name?! Sorry to any Fishwicks out there.
