Thank you for that link. A lot of useful info for family tree researchers. It is, indeed, sad - and sad that there's no formal memorial. It's a reminder, too that reservoirs, with which we are all familiar, have to be carefully designed, correctly built and properly maintained or they can be extremely dangerous. Christine |

Hi all Just going through old threads and think this is of intrest to some!! I know i've put this up before but it may help some of you. I never new about the flood, but if you found rellies in 1861 and then not in 1871 this could be why!! Found a great site for you who have links with Sheffield. www(.)mick-armitage(.)staff(.)shef(.)ac(.)uk/mickpad(.)html remove brackets. It names all who died in the flood,it's very sad lot's of young one's drowned. Well i will let you see for yourself. regards Lynne X |
