I think the jessie marie who died in surry is a definate possibility as i know her mother came from there so she may have gone back to relations. ( after Walter died?). Was Walter his only name? There is a Thomas W. Gilbert death in Leicester, Dec, qtr. 1940, age 70. I know the age is out but that sometimes happens. However if Walter was his only name then this isn't it. Kath. x

I found the Walter who died in Hendon too. The age would be right. Perhaps they didn't die in Leicester at all. I think the Jessie that Georgina found sounds likely to be right. I've gone from 1940 to 1945. Walter in Hendon is the only Walter where the age would be about right. Kath. x

There is a Walter Gilbert who died in Hendon march quarter 1942 aged 67 ref no.3a-827 Georgina.

I've looked at 1947 in case they were ill and couldn't attend the wedding.

Sarah have you seen the death entry in the June quarter 1940 Jessie M Gilbert aged 70 registration district Surrey Mid. E ref no.2a-261. Could they have entered a wrong age? Georgina.

hi kathleen, i've searched from 1930- 1946, my parents marroed in 1946 and they are not on any of the wedding photos so i'm assuming they must have dies by then. my sister never remmbers meetingthen and she was born in 1950. i've gone over the 1930's twice which is why i think i'm going mad sarah

You are going to have to look in every qtr from 1930 up until the early 1970's (as they could have lived into their 90's. It's a lot of searching, and I'm not sure that anyone will be willing to do that much for you. How far have you searched? Kath. x

Hi I've spent most of this evening searching BMD records for the deeath entries for Walter Gilbert and Jessie maria Gilbert but just can't find them. Walter was born in 1875 and Jessie in 1872, both were in a photo taken in August 1930 and lived in Leicester all their lives so i think they would have died there as well. Can someone please help? sarah
