Obadiah isn't that unusual. Is it names you can't read on the census? Heather

Well you lot are red hot ! The Almond family is spot on. I was actually wondering if the individuals themselves would have changed their christian names by choice as I cannot find any trace of Charles Almond before 1861. Born Aldborough Suffolk. 1822 Lived in Westoe Durham, 1871 & 1891, Was a Mariner, Have Vessel records for 1881 & 1861 I just cannot find a link back any further, have checked just about every almond in Suffolk census's to no avail. I need pointing in another direction I think

Charles? His name is too ordinary to belong to this family, lol. Only joking. When was he born?

Heather

Heather Report 30 Apr 2006 00:03

Is he in Liverpool in 1841? Or is he the one on familysearch christened 1824 to Robert and Rachel. Heather

Christine

Christine Report 30 Apr 2006 00:16

If his name is charles Almond I;m beginging to think he could have been anywhere in 1841! Born 1825 ( not as previously stated 1822 ) Wife Jane June-Sept 1949 South Shields All issue born in South Shields Jane 1852 Margaret 1858 Robert 1856 William Miller 1854 Agnes 1869 Mary E 1863 Address 3 Kepple Street Westoe Durham I found another James Almond ,Aldborough, Suffolk.1822 & family also living in 9 Kepple Street Durhami n 1871 & 1881, But Icannot find the link between them if any. Did think they could be brothers as both Mariners. But I cannot lonk them either

Christine Report 30 Apr 2006 00:26

Checked my notes, re Robert and Racheal but don't think I found any issue. But can followmup again. Saw the 1841 Liverpool record, for William, Mary and Charles, but as no birthplace given how can I confirm? Than ks everyone for all you help, will have another bash at it tomorrow. G'night all

Google Hilkiah, it is a Biblical name.
