I am trying to help a fellow Genes member with this puzzle. Her Nan Harriett Sewell was born in 1889 On the birth certificate it states the following. Father: William James Sewell Mother: Ann Sewell, Previously Stranger From the census I know Ann Sewell born abt 1853 However I cannot find a birth registration of a Ann Stranger or a marriage to a William James Sewell. The mystery deepens as she has another birth certificate ordered the year before her nan married, it is a birth certificate for an Agnes Ann Granger born also in 1853 in middx I have been on the computer since half seven this morning and am going around in circles!! I had a relly who was down as Clara Florence on her birth certificate and as Florence on her Marriage cert, there was however a note down the side added by the vicar some years later that she had previously been known as Clara Florence. Could one of you who loves a challenge and has a kind heart please help me help this lady who is desperate to solve this riddle xxxx apologise if this is hard to read, have seen other people set it all out with lines in between, did this on word and copied and pasted and it still came out like this!
