Just as an add on, I believe the program is no longer manufactured, it was bought out by FTM and they discontinued making it. Any versions you can get now are no longer supported by the manufacturers, it can still be purchased from TWR Computing and they do offer free telephone support for any software they sell. This was the first program I bought! I must admit I tend to just use FTM now, but did dig it all out a while ago so will have to have another look :) This is a good reminder and full of tips! laura

Do a Google for PIParse.dll. There's lots of sites where you can download it from. Download the file and save it. Open My Computer, Local Drive (usually C) open the Windows Folder, look for the file named System 32. Drag and drop the PIParse.dll file onto the System 32 folder, that should fix it. If it doesn't do the same again but drag and drop it onto the System Folder instead. Ron www*genealogyprinters*com

I'm running my software on a new laptop and am being told every time I start it that: PIParse.dll was not found - any one know what this is and how to fix it please?

Thanks Ron, there seems to be a patch for the colour printing problems there which I'll try tonight. Think this was a problem you had too Andy:- (taking out brackets) http://gen(.)custhelp(.)com/cgi-bin/gen(.)cfg/php/enduser/std_adp(.)php?p_faqid=1920&p_created=1067558299

There's a free online user group forum for Generations. You can find it here. Well worth browsing the messages for tips or even joining the forum. http://genforum.genealogy*com/generations/ Ron www.genealogyprinters*com

I use it too. I find it a great program and easy to use. The only trouble comes when I try to print the chart on the screen and the colours are different making it illegible when printed on a black and white printer. I see others got this problem so any tips would be useful. Also mine came with about 20 CDs of info - has anyone found that these are of any use or should I keep up my ancestry sub?

Andy, I am so pleased to know that other people use this program. I really like the way it prints out charts and trees. Margaret, I have followed your instructions for marrying two members of the family. The wife's name appeared with the husband but she did not connect with back with her parent's original card. Is this correct?

Thanks, I need advice on getting the reports etc. Also, whenever I come to print my family tree I get awful colours etc that make it impossible to read! Andy

Andy I have used this software for years and I like its lay out. What do want to know about 'making the most of it'? Nikki Do you mean when you discover that existing people in your tree get married? You have to link them. On the left above the mans name is a plus sign or on the right above the womans name. Click on that and then on existing spouse. That will bring up a list of all the people on your tree. Scroll until you find the name of the person you want then click on them to highlight it and then click the link tab. If you dont mean that, then can you explain a bit more? Margaret

Andy I've got it too and it seems fine, though I am not sure what to do when brothers marry sisters etc. Haven't come across anybody else who uses it though. Everybody else seems to use FTM! Nikki
