Hi, Not sure where it is but I found this wonderful site - lots of info about people in Driffield committing suicide, murders, bastardy orders etc - Not looked at it all 'coz I don't have anyone there - found it by accident - seems to be 1900 onwards. - from the Driffield Times. Great stuff if you have heard of Driffield - Try it and let me know: http://www.driffield.org.uk/driffieldtimes1901plus.html Dea x

Driffield is in East Yorkshire. I used to live close to there when I was young (which was in about 1842) in a little village called Skerne.

No Porkie - I just looked at the site quickly and as It didn't relate to me I came out - I did note some reference to Derbyshire but thought that if anyone knew Driffield it could be a little gem so posted it. Go and have a look. Dea. x

If she lived in Driffield, then maybe she was the lady who used to deliver our milk every day in the churn and fill up our enamel jug!! Yes, really! That is about the only thing that I can remember. Oh, and our next door neighbour's earth closet!

Got to go now. It is quiz night and I have to get myself ready. Had better go and put on my milkmaid's yoke and pattens!!

Dea.......it's a brilliant site isn't it? Up until only a few weeks ago it was run by a really nice lady called Della to whom the vast majority of the info on there can be attributed. Unfortunately she has had to give it up due to other commitments but The East Yorkshire Family History Society has taken it over. She has a list of pubs and landlords on the site and I emailed her all of the landlords for one of my ancestors pubs which she has included on the site. The address for the homepage is, or was http://www.dg.petch.btinternet*co.uk (replace * with .) Can I also recommend this site for people with ancestors in the area http://www.driffield*co.uk/index.htm (replace * with .) Jeanette x

Just realised you asked if anyone had found anything.......well of course I have! That's how I came across the site. It was relating to the 2 pubs in Nafferton that my ancestors had. And a marriage announcement J x
