The weather sounds awful over there. At least it is a little cooler here. Got to 22 degrees yesterday. Mind you I like it better when it's about 10. If any of you don't want the rain, could you just all stand outside and blow towards Brisbane. We are not allowed to hose and a lot of the sports clubs can't use their grounds because it is too dangerous on the hard ground. Don't know what we'll do if we don't get rain soon. It is unusual for us to get mauch in Winter so it will probably be about October before we get any now. By then it will be 30+ degrees every day. Enjoy your rain.

bet there will be one hell of a storm soon, itook my lot on the beach today and dunked the baby in the sea , but it is so hard to settle them at night including my poor old dog!!! as for my hot matches i have about 5 pages of Birds as far away from Norfolk as Tasmaniia and not one of them relevent to my great gran. I wish that hot matches could be listed by county, i am not sure on some of my birth years but at least know the county of birtth for most of them. Caroline

Yep, it did the deed in Cornwall this afternoon, shortly after I had wrestled with the sun lounger and finally managed to do it, and shortly after I had watered the garden BY HAND. Although it rained HARD for about ten mins and then went into a gentler, misty rain, the ground is still bone dry and the waterbutts havent replenished themselves. But I am quite glad it rained anyway, mynew shed has warped alarmingly in the heat and I think the damp has unwarped it a bit. OC

Bournemouth and Crone is in Cornwall. I hung washing out at about 4pm amd it chucked it down just as it was nearly dry. Left it and it dried again. Went out to bring it in and it was raining on me whilst I unpegged it!! It's not raining now, but there are still spots on the plants outside. Merry

What is so annoying, is that if they could just give the information with the birthplace (even if its only a clue about which continent) it would save me a good 10 minutes everytime. nell who DID find a hot match but they haven't replied yet. Probably having a barbecue!!!!!!!!!!!

Dea

Dea Report 11 Jun 2006 15:48

As I said above - How dare they?? - It's like having those annoying telephone calls on a Sunday afternoon when you are relaxing in the garden with a glass or two of wine after a lovely bar-b-que, which tries to sell you new windows or a new kitchen which you do not need. I had got my hot matches down to 4 pages - 3 of 'rubbish but have to check' and 1 of those contacts I am already in touch with. Now I have 9 more pages and I KNOW there will be nothing useful in them which I don't already know. This should be saved for week-days and NOT for a 'lazy Sunday afternoon' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rant over - I feel better now! Dea x
