Yes, if you call in, you just fill in a form with the info you have. Name Age when died (I put qtr and year) Where died - Just put the town/village and if a child, i usually put son/daughter of.. Depends how busy they are, but you will be able to call back later that day ( about 1 hour later) or if they aren;t busy, they will do it while you wait, or you can have it posted, but they do fold it up when they do that,

will you use Wakefield Kate? If you do, you can get them to check things, as in where he lived, or son of... for no extra cost.

Kate, She didn't remarry, those other people are actually boarders, and she is the head of the house.

Thanks Tom, Ann's age jumps three years from 1891 to 1901 anyway! I am going to order the death certificates. In 1901 I take it Elizabeth has married and the Mitchell living there is her husband? Will try and find a marriage entry. Could you find information on John Senior at all he's escaping everyone! Doubt a 32 year old man would be mistaken as a 16 year old boy. So dont think that could be him. Thanks for your help

you could do the same for Ann: - Name: Ann Senior Birth Date: abt 1846 Year of Registration: 1909 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec Age at death: 63 District: Wakefield County: West Riding Of Yorkshire, West Yorkshire Volume: 9c Page: 30 (click to see others on page)

this is the death reference for George. Name: George Senior Birth Date: abt 1836 Year of Registration: 1895 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun Age at death: 59 District: Wakefield County: West Riding Of Yorkshire, West Yorkshire Volume: 9c Page: 36 (click to see others on page) It would be worth ordering it and checking it against where he was living and his occupation. If you do rder it, ring up wakefield RO, they are excellent, and you get it 1-2 days after ordering, and it is a scan with the informants signature on it!

Death certificate ages are only as reliable as the memory of the informant. Even my own grandad's death cert has the wrong age because Uncle Bill got it wrong. Similarly with Censuses. Who actually spoke to the enumerator? And did they have full knowledge? There is always a certain amount of flexibility.

can you post some census info that you know is definately them?

Kate Report 3 Jul 2006 20:33

Hi, Can anyone help me, I have just been searching through Wakefield Burial Records and have come across my ggg grandad and grandmas entries. They are defo rights ones but ages dont match with the age on census. George Senior was born in 1839 and was buried in 1895 making him 56 records show him as 59 his wife Ann Senior was born in 1849 and buried in 1909 making her 60 records show her as 64. Can Census or Records be a few years out? Thought I had found their elusive Son John Senior born as theres one buried in 1892 but he wasnt born until 1876 and records show a 32 year old but this lad would have only been 16. This cant be right can it?? Any help would be great Kate
