Hi Penelope thanks, Just the fathers name is out, she gives it as George on her marriage certificate. Yes its a shame Penelope :-( thanks for looking though, your all really helpful on here

The witnesses on David and Ethels marriage are Frank Vale and Lily Vale. I do have a Frank Vale for one of Davids brothers born circa 1870, havent got a birth cert for him yet.

I think the image def begins with a T but the enumerator could easily have copied the details wrong. There are too many coincidences for it not to be them, surely. Merry

good your quick only went to make a cuppa Ok David Vale porky pies on the marriage cert, he gives his age as 34 but i have his birth certificate and he was born 1862!. Davids occupation on the marriage cert is Grocer Oh sorry place of birth Colchester, parents David Vale and Mary Saunders. The vales are all bakers back in Colchester and run a pub there, expect Davids dad he appears as a hawker in one census and I think he is the one in prison in the 1881 census.

Can someone help me find Susan Ethel Cox This is what I have so far: her marriage certificate to David Vale 13th Jan 1901 West Ham (St Pauls Strafford, Essex) Ethel gives her age as 22 so dob circa 1879 she also names her father as George Cox occupation Carpenter. Her residence at the time of marriage is 3 Breadway or Broadway? But I cant find Ethel and David on the 1901 census and nor Ethel on previous census's. I have all of Davids prior to 1901
