Janet, it wouldnt do that, so Ive had to do it as Elaine suggested. I cant understand why but it just didnt have a change of default. Ann - thats so nice of you, you get a free colonic irrigation kit.

Hi Heather, Open a word doc then go to format - click on font Select the settings you want, then click the default box, bottom left. That works for me on my puter. Jay Sorry - didn't read all replies, and see you've already sorted it. Obviously too much white wine while entertaining in the garden!

Thanks Elaine, but it was a program that was installed with the pc, it copies music, text or pictures in one easy drag and drop. I think Ill have to contact the puter makers. Mind you, the young geeks reckon that they had made a real bosh of this puter and had the wrong drivers for the motherboard which may be why the hd went and all the probs I had - bloody annoying. Its going like a thing possessed at the moment, silent, quick, no freezing.

What is the pinnacle thingy which you need ?

Heather

Heather Report 15 Jul 2006 17:03

Oh and do you know what the day aint arf long when you dont have a puter - I was cleaning (wash my mouth out) from morning to night - weeding, tidying up stuff - all hubbys files up to date, incredible what you can do. AND I decided to sort through all the photo albums and found a fantastic photo mum must have given me years ago about 1919 of her rather arrogant looking uncle, his two sisters and my gran. Brilliant. Scanned already this morning for my FTM.

Glen, if I hadnt had to spend so much time handling your problematic career, my hard drive wouldnt have failed and I wouldnt be getting grayer by the minute trying to sort it all out. And Val - you just lost your pensioner's discount. Elaine, I have done it and it seems ok so far! I remember doing something like that before and ending up with a full letter as my template, gawd I hope its ok now. Many thanks for your kind help. I also found a free download which recovered my Outlook express mails up to the 7 June. Woo hoo. Just that pinnacle thingy now.

any good ?? Open a blank document in the Works Word Processor. Select the font and font size you want to use for all new word processor documents. Click Save As on the File menu, and then click Template. Type a name for the word processor template, click to select the Use this template for new Word Processor documents check box, and then click OK.

Ive managed to get Works 8 back on for my word processing but try as I may I cant get the font to stay at Arial. There seems to be no option for making it a default instead of roman. CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE? Ive asked on General but there doesnt seem to be any techis on there.
