Went to the Essex Record Office yesterday. I wanted to find my 4 x great grandmother's maiden name and some more about her - I only knew that she was listed on her kids' baptisms and her own death as Sophia Wakefield. Well !!!!! I found her marriage and marriage licence, and from there I found her baptism. This is the full name she was given at birth, which she also used when she married ..... MADAME SOPHIAH PHILLIPPINI ELIZABETH HAYLOCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So her first name was actually Madame pmsl !!! (she is on the IGI without the Madame though!) Maz. XX

can't find out Jean, her mother's maiden name was Lagden ! She did use the Phillippini as a middle name for one of her daughters though! Oh by the way, she was baptised in 1782!! Maz. XX

I have a Grandmother born 1899 named Saint Frances and her twin was called Saint Mary. Their surname was Church. Has anyone come across the name Sigismunda Mondayer as a given name. This is a 4x great grandmother of mine from Shropshire. Her surname was Scoltock.

Not quite as good as yours, but when I was mungling on FreeBMD yesterday for births for one of my surnames, I came across Atimelech Gaunt. Don't ask me whether this is male or female, but a bit of a strange name for what was probably a coalminer's child?

I found my 3x great grandmother as ... Maria Silvia Raimonda Guidi Anna unfortunately she wasa born in 'foreign parts' so until I manage to track down a marriage for her I don't know whether she had an exotic surname to match it or if she was a Smith

Susan : Sigismunda is a Teutonic female name meaning Victorious Defender! Couldn't find the Mondayer, perhaps it was a surname? Angela: I found ABimelech which means my father the king, and is a Biblical name.(male)

My x2 Grandmother was, at birth, Ephraimana Heywood her brother was Ephraim. My Gt Grandfather was George Lewis Jaques, his son was George Lewis Henry and his daughter was Georgeana. What great vision they all had. lol
