Hi everyone, Sorry there has been no response to the thread for a while, I wasn't aware that it had crept back up to page one again! I'm bidding on one on ebay at the moment 2nd ed. But I have known them to go up over £30..........which seems a bit steep if you can buy it for £20? Where from and is it the full edition please? the 12 plus million names. Jen

Hiya, sorry to Hijack the thread but - How much does it cost please? Pen x

Elaine Report 22 Jul 2006 12:24

No you dont have to install all the discs. When you do a search you put the appropriate disc in the drive - but whilst you have the programme running don´t change the discs until the program tells you to. For example if you are doing a search for births starting with the letter B you will be using disc 2 - if you then want to do a search for a birth beginning with the letter M you enter the name you are looking for and then change the disc when the programme tells you.

sound like the NBI. I can find loads of burial records when I do look ups for other people but I've only found two of my rellies on there. Like all these records, it depends on what has been transcribed.

Jen, I have the BVRI and I've only found 1% of my rellies on there. Because of the number of CDs it's a pain to keep loading and reloading. You can view coverage here: http://www.ldscatalog.*com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?partNumber=50126000&catalogIdentifier=LDS_SalesCatalog&action=Index Remove the * As you can see, some counties have better coverage than others. Worth the investment - definitely yes. Coverage http://www.genoot(.)com/downloads/BVRI2/ - click on the blue numbers next to each county and it will show the parishes covered. Cost new - about 20 pounds - can sometimes be found on ebay but make sure it is the 2nd version (contains 16 discs)

Isn't the coverage on the LDS site -possibly in the library section? I know I've seen it somewhere online, because I had a look to see if I wanted Santa to bring it ! Jay

Thanks Gill, That's interesting to know and would explain why some of the look ups I have requested, don't always turn up! Jen
