Tracing a marriage after 1901?

what sort of when after 1901 are they likely to have married? when was Agnes born ?- if she went to live with them when she was 6, and he was already married , there must have been quite some gap in age |

I've got 3 Barker brothers who all called one of their sons Herbert Barker and these were all born between 1879 and 1889. One of these Herberts is the brother of my grandmother Agnes. My dad fondly remembers his uncle Herbert who was married to a lady called Teresa but we dont know if this Herbert was Agnes' true brother or her cousin who she went to live with after her parents died when she was 6. I guess I need to find the marriage between Herbert and Teresa to confirm his father but there is nothing on FreeBMD. When I started this hobby I already had the tree back as far as 1901 so I don't know how best to search for marriages after that. Has anyone got any tips? The Barkers seem to have flitted between Hertfordshire and Islington most of the time. Thanks, Lyla |
