Unfortunately NO The only way that you would be able to look at the Birth details is to actually purchase the certificate.. Either via the GRO Cost with reference is £7 OR The appropriate local Register Office References from 1837 online only refer to gro index and not to the local Reg Offices... cost £7 Mo

As people have pointed out - the one I posted above, from 1851 census MAY NOT be the correct one - Do you have any details of siblings etc? Dea x

Darksecretz

Darksecretz Report 7 Aug 2006 10:25

hiya Ian, you just recieved what from where?? is the last entry from a census??? or is it from a marriage cert, or other info??? the reason I ask is, you cant say for sure this IS your family unless you have proof, ie, BMD certs and suchlike, and have tracked them from 1901, backwards, I'm not saying it isnt your family, but are you SURE you are on the right track?? just trying to make sure you dont spend alot of hours/time chasing wrong family, It has been done before, and no doubt will be done many many more times Julie

hiya Ian, if you post what details you KNOW is correct, then we can help you narrow it down somewhat, is why we are all here!! :)) I know how easy it is to get carried away, and believe me, i have done it, just dont like to leave things untidy, the best way is to start with info you have access to, ie, parents, marr cert/birth certs etc... it ISNT a cheap hobby, especially when you start buying certs, and or even wills and other stuff, then next, try and track them through census 1901-1841 you can search 1881 census for free on the LDS site www*familysearch*org replace * with dots however, it is always best i think, if you are new to this to say so, and people will then be more helpful, as often people tend to forget we were all new at some point, and baffle the new people with words/terms sometimes that they havent got a clue about, best bit of advice!! if in doubt ASK!!! always someone around to help!! Julie
