Just re-read the heading message - so, was she born in Falmouth, or was she born in Truro? (You state both places in your header) OC

Jennie Report 11 Aug 2006 21:16

Thanks OC i know on some of the census's they have been called Trevivian. I will have another look for other marriages for these people. Thanks Jen

Pippa

Pippa Report 11 Aug 2006 21:15

So she is a widow in 1901. Do you have hubby's death? Have you also looked under the name Kate and any other variation of Catherine. Also as OC said the name Curtis and Vivian seem very common!

An Olde Crone

An Olde Crone Report 11 Aug 2006 21:11

Have you tried all the variant spellings of Vivian? It is a very common Cornish surname and gets spelled in many different ways, including Vyvyan, Vyvian, etc. I think you have the wrong marriage, personally, she couldnt possibly have got married age 9. Or the age on the census has been mistranscribed. OC

Pippa

Pippa Report 11 Aug 2006 21:01

Are you using Free BMD or the full index on ancestry when looking for the marriage?

Hi. I have been searching for Catherine Vivian on the 1871 census it states that she was born in 1862. I have searched for her birth and she was born 2nd quarter 1861 Truro. The confusing thing is i know she married Thomas Curtis but i can only find there marriage in 1870 3rd Quarter in Falmouth which is where Catherine was born. If this is so then she would of been 9 when she married do you think i have the wrong census details? The census i have is RG10/2287/50/4 Many thanks Jen
