Horatia

Horatia Report 14 Aug 2006 15:37

Yep, it's the Monty thing! My name on here is Horatia but many still think it is Horatio! That's me DAD ennit! ;-) Cheers, Horatia (only child of Horatio Nelson)

I think we have to stick by the rules of research and never assume anything eh?! Some people chat on here under the name of their OH...at least your name is slightly ambiguous and could be either, rather than a blatant Paul actually being Sally, or whatever they're called!

Kate

Kate Report 14 Aug 2006 15:49

For those of us who remember your previous name, it was obviously a female one, so I have always thought of you as female! But I suppose 'Monty' is (usually) a male name. 'Merry' is male in the Lord of the Rings, but I used to have a female cat called Merry, so to me it could be either. Kate.

Well, I had my doubts when you said you didnt know how to weedle a bit of info out of one of our male fellow researchers on here. We are trained from birth to weedle and that did give me some worries.

Merry-Ive always imagined you as long blond hair, rosy cheeks, with an old style kitchen with a quarry tiled floor, big farmhouse table with a bottle of red and a laptop on it whilst brewing some homemade soup....with muddy wellies by the door .....

Hi Merry You helped me the other day and I have seen loads of threads where you have helped others. I never once thought you were a man. But it is sometimes quite difficult to tell, which people on here are male or female because of their names! Claire

TinaTheCheshirePussyCat Report 14 Aug 2006 17:59

Oh dear, Merry. Never mind. Anyone who remembers the virtual journey last christmas with the roof box sled and red tinsel g-string knows with complete certainty that you are female. Anyway, is it such a bad thing to disguise yourself so well? It doesn't half wrong-foot people when they discover their mistake. The element of surprise and all that. Tina (female and furry)

Kate Report 14 Aug 2006 18:01

Er... 'Salty Brine'... I thought that age thing was copied from Adrian Mole?? Surely he (AM) was a bloke? Kate.

Well I know who you are Horatia (Mrs Ward) and I've seen your slab in Trunch church, where my grandfather was baptised! And I know that Merry is female - what male names could it be short for??? Jay
