Thanks everyone for your replies. I've just checked last years statement......(sad person that I am keeping bank statements).....and I paid £9. 50 last September....so I'm quite happy with that.....just clicked the button to renew !!!!! Jean

hi jean, sorry i did'ntanwer you but i was called away, my daughter fell down the stairs and broke her wrist so i had to look after the children for her . yes i paid £9.50 when i joined in march and i've just looked in my account and i've only put for 1yr which will end on march 07 hazel.

Annie - which probably means that when you joined in 2004 you paid 7.50. Those of us who joined in 2005 paid 9.50. Your renewal is charged at the same rate as your previous year´s subscription.

my renewal wasnt due till monday ....was sent reminder about 2 wks ago and it was only £7.50 so renewed then ann xx

I recently renewed and queried why I was being charged 9.50 - received the following reply from GR Thanks for your email When you opt for auto renewal, you are charged the same price as you paid last year. I can see that you paid £9.50 last year, which is the amount you have also paid this year. The membership fee for members who do not opt for auto renewal is £9.95 Please let me know if you need further assistance. Best regards, Julie The Genes Support Team ============================== So if you are on continuous membership you are charged the same as last year (which was when I joined) - the 7.50 charge must be for older members (not in age I might add - but those that have been members of GR for a longer length of time!!!) You are charged 9.95 if you are a new member, or have not selected the continuous membership.

Hi all.....I'm waiting for a reply from them My renewal date is also 11th Sept Kerry.and when I looked into my renewal, it says August 06 and £9. 50. I've got mine ticked on automatic renewal but I think I'll untick it........that's if they haven't already taken it out. Have they gone mad !!!! I think we should maybe all get on to them....especially the ones who have already paid £9. 50 will let you know if they reply Jean

Hi Jean, There have been a number of threads about this. Everyone unhappy about different prices even though circumstances the same. They charged me the higher price to renew back in March! Carol

hi jean i renewed mine and it wasnt up for renewal until 11sept and they charged me £9.95 i didnt know you payed less if you were already a member and not only that my renewal is aug 07 when it should be surely sept 07?i renewed my quicker anyway because i had to send a cheque this time so panicked a bit. i think i shall be on to them to see why they are charging different amounts kerry ann
