OK - so who is the descendant from Alice and Robert you are tracing ? We must find a census record to find out where she was born.

It was from the wedding cert i got her age as showing 17 in 1873

If you haven´t found her in a census then how do you know her age - has this come from her marriage certificate? Presumably this couple must fit into your tree somehow - have you found Robert on any of the census? The reason I am asking so many questions is that if we can find out exactly when and where Alice was born then we should be able to find her on the 1861 census hopefully with both parents.

Is she the one at Openshaw Lancs in 1881? I think she was born in Dudley. Heather

I'm not seeing anything that's immediately obvious in either the 61 or 71 census. Will keep looking though.

Patricia I'm more than happy to look for you but there are several Joseph Chinns. Can you give any more information such as which part of the country he was living in/born in? Any guesses as to approximately when he was born?

Elaine

Elaine Report 21 Aug 2006 09:38
