Hiya, Can anyone tell me how i would go about finding information about someone born around 1810, as i can't seem to find anything : ( Thanks! xx

HI Danielle, I presume you know where the person was born? If so it is reasonable to assume that they would have been baptised in the same area. If you check the parish records for the area at the county records office you may find the baptism. This will give you the parents names. Have you found them on the 1841 census? Keith

For the birth your only chance would be if he was christened as a baby - try looking on Family search or in the local records office once you get to 1841 you you can trace them through the censuses also try parish records for the marriage.

I seem to have come to a dead end at James Mitchinson b1810 & family from Wigan, Lancashire. I think he married Alice and had sons John & Joseph, possibly others aswell.. But i'd like to find out about his siblings, parents, children etc.. This far back all the family seemed to call their children the same names so its really confusing.. ha : ) xx

I've got him married to Alice.. but i don't know where ive got that from now as i can't find it.. I'm guessing he might be on the 1841 census with family?

I dont think that the right family, this John might be James (1810)'s brother maybe? .. : ( I'm confused.. xx

I've added loadsa new info, hopefully its all accurate ha, its unfortunate there were no census's around 1800 x

Yes i think i've sorted them, its confusing though.. : ) The above Joseph i know is my grandads grandad.. he also went on to have 13 kids with the same above names.. Theyre all named after one another, thats what makes it so confusing.. haha
