If it is anything like my marriage, it is mistranscribed on the GRO. Would you believe that both out names are misspelled. I did report it to the GRO and they emailed back to say they would investigate. That was in August.

Hello Naomi, How are you? On 1837 there is a marriage for August 2001, for a Simon R Maynard, but the spouse is not you!! The marriage took place in West Sussex, do you think you may have been mistranscribed?? Sue

Great, so anyone trying to trace us in future will be stuck!!! No wonder we have so much trouble trying to find ancestors! Do you think I should contact my local registry office or the GRO themselves? Naomi

As someone who was trying to find a death that should have been listed on there in the early 1990's I must say that it's nice to know I'm not going crazy and that I'm the only one. I wonder how common it is that they forget to send the records in to the GRO?! Liz

It's just that Ancestry says it's fully transcribed so I thought it should be there. N x

Jeanette Report 25 Oct 2006 14:29

can't see you there perhaps you need to ask some one who has credit on 1837 to look on image as you should be on the index Jeanette

On Ancestry it says that the BMD between 1984 and 2004 is fully transcribed. How come I cant find my own marriage from 2001 on there? I'm getting a bit worried! Naomi x
