Liz There is nothing to stop you advertising yourself as a researcher and doing that. It might take a while to build it up into an actual living, though. A Professional Genealogist is really quite a rarified job and I believe the course is difficult and expensive. Good luck! OC

Can anyone give me any advice in getting into genealogy as a profession? Is there much demand in researchers, or do people usually get on with it themselves? Im really interested in this as a hobby, but now im thinking of taking it on as a career, or at least making it into something to generate some money. Id appreciate any advice from people who know more about the diverse paths that could be followed through a genealogy career. Thanks, Liz
