Hello I am trying to find a marriage for a David Condon. I have him on the 1880 American census aged 23 and married but his wife isnt with him (as he is in prison). He was born in Middlesex then travelled to America between 1859-1870 with his family. He had 2 sisters born in New York but on the 1880c he was in Redwood City, San Mateo, California. I am presuming he married in one of these two places. Any help would be very appreciated. Thankyou, Jayne

Theres a DAVID CONDON married on 19 May 1869 in Manhattan, NEW YORK. Prob is it says he was born Ireland so dont think he's yours. Cant find one in California. Only other one is in 1883, but he would have married before then.

Judy, the actual image shows: 'relationship of each person to the head of this family...' and the first person for that address is 'jailer' with the names listed below that as 'prisoner'. ---------------- Looking at the image again, Richard Fuller could be 'Tailer' rather than 'Jailer'. But, it definately has 'er' at the end of the word, not 'or'.

Thankyou everyone. I wasn't expecting any more replies on here. Its nice that people don't forget. Yes I am sure that my David was a prisoner. I was sent a copy of the census from a very kind, busy soul on here. I was also sent a copy of a picture of the jail in 1880 by California Records Office (both these are now in my book). I still dont know what happened to him or who he married. Mary could have been his sister. Thankyou Jayne
