Hi Margaret It would only be possible to find the birth registration if you were sure that he was registered with his mother's surname. With you not knowing his first name, and Johnson being a fairly common surname, I chose 1915-1918 as the search period and got up 94 pages. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time to trawl through all those, much as I'd like to help. Mandy :)

Hi Mandy, What a great offer,Thanks!! Would it be possible to find an illigitimate birth on 1837 with only the mothers name ? This is what I am looking for: A son born to Gertrude Johnson age 22 abt 1916/17 St Helens,Lancashire. That would be the District of Prescot (I think) Thanks, Cheers, Margaret x

Battalion. Surname: Sunley Forename(s): George Edward Initials: G E Birthplace: Enlisted: East Ham, Essex Residence: Scarborough, Yorks Rank: PRIVATE Number: 204245 Date died: 22 April 1918 How died: Killed in action Theatre of war: France & Flanders Supplementary Notes: Have you also looked on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website? Jackie - you're welcome! Anne-Marie, 2nd quarter 1952 - Henrietta M NOBLE - Tynemouth - age 77 - vol 1b, p459 - hope this might be the right one! Norma, Sorry, civil registration didn't start until 1837 so I'm unable to look up an 1835 birth. Mandy :)

Hi Mandy, Thank you for your time and info. I will certainly apply for Edward's cert. You say that Henrietta'a age isn't quite right, could you tell what age she was as Tynemouth is a definate possiblity. As she died before Edward according to info that relies gave me I don't hink I will get anything further from his death cert. I have also been looking for him on the 1901 census to no avail yet Henrietta is there with their children. Would it be possible to have a quick look at the census. New eyes may help. Many thanks Regards Anne-Marie

Hi Anne-Marie I've been right through from 1951-1954 and have found Edward but not Henrietta. Edward NOBLE - age 83 - death registered Northumberland S - 3rd quarter 1953 - vol 1b, p276 There is a Henrietta Noble in 1952, but the age isn't quite right, and the area is Tynemouth. Hopefully, Edward's death certificate might give you some relevant info! Mandy :)

Hi Jackie Your search is one of those 'needle in a haystack' ones, as it could be anytime between 1936 and the 1970s really. I've spent an hour searching from 1936 - 1947 inclusive, but having used up about 50 credits, I feel I ought to stop now so that I can complete some of the other requests I've received. If I'm still left with credits in a day or so, then I'll continue from 1948 onwards. Mandy :)

I expect many of you will remember Bendy Wendy. She is taking a very intensive course of study this year and family history/GR has had to take a back seat. She took up one of those special offers from 1837online and has now got loads of spare credits that have to be used up in the next few weeks, so she offered them to me. I said that I would offer lookups with them, so if you want any BMDs searched on 1837online, please ask away! I need to keep myself busy at the moment anyway, so the more the merrier! Mandy :)
