They must think that we are stupid. The trouble is, they wouldn't spend all that lovely shareholder money on advertisements unless they got a return. The inevitable conclusion must therefore be that enough of us ARE stupid (present company excepted), and that the joke's on us.

Interesting ...... .... parent site FR also had 999,999th visitor with winnings up this morning .... apparently anyway. For some reason (and I am not complaining!), I have not been getting any of the ancillary advertising from any of the FR family of sites for several months. I am in another country, although this does not seemingly make a difference for other people, and I haven't increased the level of my pop-up blocker. So I don't know what I have done ........ but it is nice not to have them!! Sylvia

Just a little word of advice. It is not usually wise to click on these types of adverts which, incidentally, have been around on the internet for a very long time. At best they are attention grabbers and at worst they can not only take you to sites you probably would not wish to visit but can also coerce you into downloading 'helpful software' that you almost certainly will not find helpful in the long run. Ask yourself this: if an advertiser is totally above board then why on earth would they try to attract your attention by saying you have won something that you will probably never receive? The old adage that there is no such thing as a free lunch is just as true on the internet as it is in the real world!
