Help needed Sheffield and maybe cumberland

I have an Elsie Sproat b1912 Sheffield died 1929 Shefffield Mothers name Edgar. the only Sproats in Sheffield (I believe) in 1901 was a James and Mary from Wigton and Allerby Cumberland with son Stanley b c1896. Marriages in Wigton in March 1896 include Mary Edgar and James Sproat. there is a big gap between 1896 and 1912 ...could these be her parents and are there any more children. Also altho' I can find Mary in Cumberland I can't find James. Can anyone help please Jacqui |
