Thank you so much everyone. Ive been having so much trouble with this couple! Ive been posting threads on here for the last 3 days about them and everyone has been so friendly and helpful. I joined GR back in July last year, but got stuck after about a month and got so fed up I stopped until last week. I'd never even thought of coming to the boards then. Im kicking myself for it now though! Thanks again everyone, I think your all brilliant! x x |

Maureen, I think that's them. It looks right, although their ages are out by about 8 yrs, thats not uncommon though! The parents names are right and I thought Bridget had a brother called John as I have a John wyne living as a boarder with Bridget and Andrew/Anthony in the 1871 census. Thank you so much!! |

That looks promising.... I know it can be frustrating, I've been tearing out my hair over one of my relatives for months now. Bear with it though, there are plenty of helpful people on here who will help you if they can, and you may find you trace other relatives/names that throw up new information. Good luck! Laura |

If you are looking for death of these people always add 1yr/ 2yrs on to search and don't stay in same area as Edinburgh can come under Lothian and as last child is in Dundee look there also |

No, cant find his death, but i know he died between 1878 and 1885. I think they were catholic, im sure on most of the other marriage registry's ive seen of there later relations, they went on the the roman catholic church. i'll try the website, thanks. Oh, and while your here, I just want to thank you for helping me the other day. You found Bridget and anthonys children for me on IGI and as a result, ive got loads more relatives on my tree now! Mind you, ive spent an absolute fortune at scotlandspeople because of it! Just don't tell my partner! x |

Maybe they never did marry. One of my ancestors states on a birth cert that he was married to his second wife on the 01/01/1855 but didnt actually get married for another for another ten years or so. They may have married in Ireland even though it says Edinburgh. Their marriage may have been in a Catholic church and to my knowledge they arent included on the igi or Scotlandspeople. If you think they may have been Catholic then try http://www.catholic-heritage.net/sca/ Have you found his death in Scotland? Mhairi |

I am destperately trying to locate the marriage certificate of Andrew/Anthony Docherty to Bridget Wynn. They are stated as being married on 8/05/1850 in Edinburgh on their son's birth cert. and census' say they were both from Ireland. There is no trace of them together on the 1851 census, and no trace of their marriage cert. Ive tried everything I can think of!!! Could they have lied about their place of marriage? And if so, why? I know they could have lied about their ages, but have already tried that. I have looked on scotlandspeople and IGI, and have even searched through the unwanted cert.'s thread here. Someone also did a lookup on ancestry for me, but still nothing. Can anyone please help? Bridget was born abt. 1835, Anthony/Andrew (I've had both names, defo the same man) b. abt. 1830. I have Bridgets parents as Patrick Wynn and Mary lloyd. Thank you everyone x x |
